korearealist

I'm a Korean dad in my 40s living in Seoul with my wife and elementary-school-aged daughter. Having spent my life in Korea, I've experienced its schools, healthcare system, housing market, transportation, travel destinations, and everyday culture firsthand. Over time, I realized that much of the information foreigners find about Korea online comes from short-term visitors or promotional sources — not from people who actually live here. That's why I started Korea Realist. This isn't a travel guide or a marketing platform. It's a place where I share honest, firsthand perspectives on what life in Korea is really like — from family life and local travel to housing, transportation, food, and everyday experiences. My goal is simple: to provide the kind of honest, practical information that's often missing from typical guides about Korea.
